SkoFlo technology has proven to be the most reliable and accurate method of dispensing chemicals to maintain pipeline integrity and flow assurance.

SkoFlo valves operate on a simple and reliable principle that a given fluid flow rate will generate a consistent pressure drop across a known restriction. The pressure drop produces a net force on a piston which is countered by a spring force. A ceramic throttling point attached to the piston keeps the spring force equal to the pressure differential thereby maintaining a constant flow that is independent of fluctuations in external pressure. No adjustments are needed to maintain a preset flow!

As the pressure drop across the valve increases, flow through the valve will momentarily increase causing the pressure drop across the restriction and the piston to increase. The rise in pressure drop will cause the piston to move the pin toward the seat restricting flow. Since piston travel is slight the change in spring force is negligible and the pressure balance across the piston is the same after the piston reacts to the pressure change. The time for the piston is virtually instantaneous and occurs without hunting or chatter.

The chance of fluid erosion in the orifices is nonexistent because the pressure drop across the orifice assembly is governed to a maximum of either 200 psid or 350 psid full scale. The fluid energy is dissipated when the fluid passes over the ceramic surfaces of the throttling pin and seat.

The operation of a SkoFlo CIMV is entirely mechanical, except to adjust flow settings. This makes the SkoFlo valve remarkably reliable while requiring very low power.
